GIMP keychains — a.k.a. boondoggle, scoubidou, or just plastic lace — are colorful, handmade accessories made by weaving and braiding strands of plastic cord.
Every piece starts with picking a handful of colors, then working a repeating weave or braid — a square stitch, a spiral twist, a butterfly — and finishing it off on a key ring. The stitch decides the shape: chunky, round, flat, twisty.
They're cheap to start, endlessly customizable, and honestly kind of addictive. Different colors, lengths, patterns and charms = a keychain that's one of one.

I've been making GIMP keychains since 3rd grade, and what started as a fun hobby has grown into something I really love making — and sharing.
On here I show off the colors, patterns and techniques I use, and yeah — I sell them too, so you can grab a one-of-a-kind keychain made by me.
Whether you're a total beginner or you already know the weaves, I hope this inspires you to try making your own. It's more fun than it looks.
